Tom Sinsky, Tutoring
(626) 354-3616 * tomsinsky@earthlink.net

I help junior high, high school, and college students with:

  • English courses
  • Term papers
  • College admissions essays
  • SAT preparation, including the new essay section
  • History
  • Social studies
  • Math (including algebra)

I am also an ESL tutor, and I offer citizenship exam preparation.

My Approach:

I concentrate on what is expected by each studentıs teachers. Tutoring independently allows me to offer the most personalized attention. Your money will go toward quality instruction, not advertising, office space and the salaries of managers who are trying to hire low-cost instructors.

I tutor students in the Inland Valley including Diamond Bar, Walnut, La Verne, Claremont, San Dimas, Covina, West Covina, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Pomona, Ontario, Glendora, Chino, Chino Hills, Alta Loma and San Antonio Heights.

Rates are available on request.

Bio:

I have taught English, history, and media studies at the high school and college levels for the better part of the last decade. I have a current California teaching credential, and three graduate degrees:

  • M.A. in English Literature from Loyola Marymount
  • M.F.A. from USC film schoolıs writing program
  • J. D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School

I have taught at one public and two private high schools, and at the University of La Verne. At Alemany High School in Mission Hills, I moderated the National Honor Society and ran the NHS tutoring program. At the Design High School in Los Angeles, I served as English Department Chair, Testing Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator.

Although I love teaching classes, tutoring allows me to arrange my schedule so that my daughter (above) is always with me or my wife.
